was founded in 1945 to promote an interest in horticulture and to encourage gardening in Horsham and the surrounding district.  During the winter months from October to March we hold fortnightly meetings starting at 7.30pm to Tuesdays at St. Leonard's Church Hall, Horsham.  This is situated at the corner of Clarence Road, a turning off Brighton Road and Cambridge Road [see map].  Our winter meetings consist of illustrated lectures on various aspects of gardening, slides of visits to famous gardens at home and abroad and occasional practical demonstrations.

In the summer months we run five coach outings to gardens within daily travelling distance in the South-East and South of England. We also arrange four evening visits to local gardens starting at 6.00pm.  Members travel by car to these locations and members without their own transport are encouraged to seek a lift from other members.

We run two flower shows a year, a Spring Show at the end of March or early April for spring flowers, and a Summer Show in August.  These also take place at St. Leonard's Church Hall.  Members are invited to exhibit their flowers, fruit, vegetables, cookery and handicrafts (including photography).  Members or the public are cordially invited to come and view our shows during the afternoons of show days, and to see what we have to offer to potential members, but exhibition in the shows is currently limited to our members.  So you need to join if you wish to exhibit.

Our membership fee for all this is a modest £4.00 a year
